Image Transfers for Kiln Glass: 21-23 June 2012
On this exciting course, you can discover the printmaking method developed by artist Carrie Iverson for transferring images from Xerox prints onto glass. The technique uses principles from lithography and culminates in prints composed from fine glass powder fired onto glass sheet. See Carrie's wonderful work at www.carrieiverson.com
During the class you will view images and examples of finished works and, following demonstrations, you will create numerous reference pieces in both single and multilayered compositions. You will also explore different combinations of materials and examine special effects produced with Bullseye reactive glasses.
It is important to note that Carrie uses a method requiring only basic tools and accessories - a process which therefore is easily applied in your own studio with any glass type of your choice.
Projects: Numerous reference samples will be made in preparation for a comprehensive final project.
Skill Level: Prior experience in fusing and casting will be a definite advantage.
