The countdown for the 2012 London Olympics has begun!

These games are the largest sporting event ever staged in the UK and have been described by Peter Hendy – London Transport Commissioner – as ‘Britain’s largest ever peacetime logistical exercise’. The expected number of spectators alone is estimated at nine-million-plus and will have a tremendous impact on all businesses, not only in London but many other parts of the country where events are taking place. With the changes to routes, road closures and additional vehicle security there will inevitably be delivery schedule disruption to overcome.

Our courier company (APC) have been working with the Olympic Working Party for some months now, to ensure that this disruption is kept to a minimum. There will be additional vehicles operating to try and maintain the normal high service levels, but despite this there may be circumstances beyond our control where deliveries or collections may be affected.
